Multinational Business Website "One should consider culture, language, workflows and search engines when planning a multinational website. Building a centralized organization with great local freedom is key."
Back in 2016, when Scania decided to replace their global internet solution, I was on the team that designed and developed the components for it.
Aligning 64 different markets and dozens of strong-willed managers made this a great challenge.
It was also an opportunity to really drill down into HTML and CSS standards. Internationalization is a hard nut to crack. Arabic, Thai, and Cyrillic fonts have their ways, and hyphenation isn't always easy. Third-party applications surrounding the core site had to be adopted so the user experience would be consistent.
The re-design of any main website often requires updates to several subsites and applications. To make these migrations smoother, in a later project I lead the work to create a complete design system.

The Truck Configurator is a central component of the Scania website that was built to serve the customer when he is ready to take a closer look at how the company can meet his needs.

When the agency handed the main navigation over for approval, I conducted quality control. In the first iteration, I uncovered over 90 issues.

Scania.com is available in many different languages, including Korean, Chinese, Arabic, and Thai. I was very involved in the internationalization of the website and making it consistent and clear for all customers, no matter their location.

Scania Media Provider relies on a third-party application but is part of the Scania web experience. I re-designed the subsite (using JavaScript and CSS) so that it seamlessly integrates with the website's overall design.
