How did it start?

Off course, as a swede or anyway "scandinavian", my boats name was "Kontiki". It was an optimist dinghy, which I built when I was 12 years old. As a little child I was fascinated of other parts of the world with people making their ways in the jungle and on the sea, discovering "new" land. And Thor Heyerdahl ( http://www.kon-tiki.no/ ) was one of my favorites. Remember the movies we saw in school about all these brave men (because they were mostly men) who discover these places who were not known to us. And finally at twelve I built my own dinghy. And sailed around in Bråviken outside Norrköping.

Still on that road!

I grew up and moved to Stockholm. Built a RJ85 ( http://www.rj85.nu/ ) at Tollare  papermill 1974 (it was closed down at that time). But the sailing never came further than Utö. Now I am 58 years and feels that the time has come to do something to those dreams I had when I was small. But now I and my girlfriend has bought a OC35 and has started to repair and equip the boat with items to be able to sail further away than Utö.

We wanna show that even "cowards" can do ...

So, this homepage is mainly for ourselves. To describe and document that we could realize our dreams. To set a main goal, broken down sub-goals, and then step-by-step be able to "mark" these steps as cleared or done. And if these pages can inspire you to do something similar then .........

One assistance to that might be the words below

On an ancient wall in China
Where a brooding buddha blinks
Deeply graven is the message:
It is later than you think

The clock of life is wound but once
And no man has the power
To tell just when the hands will stop
At late or early hour

Now is all the time you own
The past a golden link
Go cruising now my brother
It is later than you think
